we are sailing
Jul 19th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

I am sailing with the winds of advancement pushing me forward. Personally It’s been a rough week with lots to do, lots of things to sort out and a lot of bikeriding. It’s been rain and sunshine, and I came out on top with my head cleared. That’s all good.

Now, as I write this it’s 9 months in a few hours since me and Jorunn could call ourself a couple, and maybe I’ll get my act together and buy something tomorrow. It’s also 5 weeks to the day until I will have gotten my keys to the new apartment today. I am really looking forward to that.

Enjoy your summer eveyrone, I’ll be at work, watching Tour de France, packing for the big move or outside bikeriding!

Trying real hard to be something
Jul 14th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

I sometimes find myself stuck in my own world. I try hard – I’m trying really hard to be a openminded happy person. I try not to impose on others my way of thinking or my way of living. I try to give advice when due and keep my mouth shut when I should not speak. I can not always succeed. I wish it was otherwise, but I guess I’m just as human as I wish I was not.

I’m sad that what I intend as good come across as bad. I do not mean it that way, it’s just how it get’s picked up, how most people feel it’s intended. I know I have a problem with the way I communicate when there is a subject I really have strong feelings for. I try to control my communicative skills or lack thereof the best way possible. Sadly but true; ‘it’s human to err’. I wish it was otherwise.

So Ronery
Jul 6th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

Jorunn is still at Røros. :~

So Ronery
I am so ronery,
so ronery.
So ronery and sadry alone.
Yet noone,
just me onry.
Sitting on my rittle thwone

I work wery hard and make up gweat pwans.
But nobody ristens, no one understands.
Seems like no one takes me seriousry.

And so:
I’m ronery.
I’m real ronery.
Poor rittle meeeeeeeeeee.

There’s nobody, I can rerate to,
feel rike a bird in a cage.
It’s kinda sirry, but not rearry
beacause it’s firring my body with rage.

I’m the smartest most crever most physicarry fit
but nobody ewse seems to rearise it.
When I change the world maybe they’ll notice me.
And until then, I’ll just be ronery, a rittle ronery,
poor rittle meeeeeeeee
I’m so roneryyyyyyyy..

Thank you a million times not, Trey Parker. You got it all inside my head! If I only could get my ass around and get the whole ‘Team America’-thingie out of there it would be fine, but I can’t.

More pictures!
Jul 5th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

I finally got my ass around and published a new album in the gallery – one from the trip to London in April and then I reorganized the whole DHG15-subalbum so that you now got a nice and clean album named ‘DHG15 construction site‘ with all the pictures from the construction site at the docks. I’m thinking about putting them in the right order later on.

ISC warning
Jul 5th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

As a part of my ‘I can not go to bed just yet’ websurfing hour I came across an article that told about a warning from ISC. ISC has warned about a possible storm across the Internet as it turns up that a huge load of the available tools for weblogs such as my own are vulnerable to a security hole that may lead to server compromise. It took me a whole 5 seconds to patch on the server that hosts nerdehavnen.no. I sugest you all do this little trick as root:

pear upgrade XML_RPC
That is, if you use PHP4 and above. More info about this can be found over at SANS and ofcourse /..

Cool pictures; Computerparty
Jun 29th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

New pictures from the docks
As a treat to anyone interested I’ve added a new album of pictures from Dyre Halses street, the new home of me and Jorunn from the 23rd of August.

Cool backgrounds
Jon Lech Johansen
do many strange things, but today I found something useful in his weblog. He has this post about an archive of neat widescreen backgrounds. A grand total of 190 backgrounds complete with thumbnails. Pretty neat stuff. I grabbed some of those for my personal use.

Xplore with NoLimit
Today at 12:00 a little computerparty was kicked off up here in Verdal, Norway. The ‘city’ of Verdal is mostly known for their inhabitants superior luck in the national lotteries. They say you should never go here without trying your luck. I guess I’ll have to get a token or two before Saturday then. The computerparty only has about 150 people as a grand total, so the 30Mbit Internet-connection has a lot of speed to offer the people here. We also have croquet and barbeque on the schedule!

The Big Bikeride
Jun 29th, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

I didn’t make it all the way to Oslo. After 356 KM I was in a very bad state of pain. The pain came from my knees, the one part of my body that had taken all the wind across the mountain. At 1040 metres above sealevel it’s cold even in the middle of the day with the sun shining. A freezing 5-10+C was enough to make me have pain for two days.

I do not give up! The crunch is in for next time already for my part. I’ve decided that I’ll give it another try and make sure I do more workouts, run more, bikeride more, get even more healty food. Watch this spot for updates.

New rack
Jun 22nd, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

Yesterday we got a new rack at work. Today, we hope, the first three Dell PowerEdge-servers will join the rack, along with an UPS. The idea is to build all services based on PowerEdge-servers in that and another rack alongside it. During July I’ll test and set up services on the new servers and wait for August to come.

We have also decided that we’re going to offer hosting for rackmountable servers for about 1000,- NOK/month pending traffic, number of units and requirements by the buyer. If you maybe interested, give me a shout.

Crunchtime
Jun 22nd, 2005 by Anders Kringstad

In three days, I’ll be on the bike on my way to Oslo. The big big bikeride is on. I feel ready and I feel bored. It’s boring to wait, and I feel unpatient. Make sure you don’t get up early to see us off, I’d rather go alone 😛

In other news I have been building up resources for the above bikeride, and taken some time off in the afternoons. Relaxing at home, doing situps, sleeping and watching movies. One of the movies I took time to watch during the weekend was ‘Daredevil’, a Marvel comic that has, along with ‘Spiderman’ and others made the jump to the big silver screen. The superhero in ‘Daredevil’ has one strange difference to most others; He is blind. To make the film better the people at Regency hired a blind man to be a consultant on the production. You may have heard of him, Tom Sullivan is his name. He has a web profile that contains a lot about him, so I’ll leave it to you to read that.

The point he made in an interview about ‘Daredevil’ was the thing that has been flying around inside my head the past days: "There is nothing as beautiful as the sound of a kiss".

Another person who has said something about kisses may also be quoted:
"The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.", Oliver Wendell Holmes.

Eat that, lovehaters.
