When you come to think of it, the new and coming movie this weekend here in Norway will be a pure baseline plot for the story behind Arnold Schwarzeneggers “Terminator” and “Terminator 2”. While much more friendly looking Will Smith plays the role as the “I, Robot” this time, the choral is all the same. Robots will take over unless we do remedy first and become robots ourself. Aye.
To be quite frank, I came up with an more interesting movie title due to this film coming out. The novel named “I, geek” will be produced shortly, or maybe not. I can’t possibly think of any real audience for it. It’s not like we geeks are silly or uninteresting people, it’s just that our way of life may be a little too internal for the broad audience. I believe we have to act up and create some ISSUES if we are to get more attention to our basic needs. On a sidenote I would like to announce my deep sympathy with all other fellow sysadmins who did notreceive gratitudes on the Sysadmin day, 30th of July. I hope someone will remember it next year. I will be sending out notes about it upfront!
It’s so far been a bussy week. At work we’re heading deep into the IP-space with new services being born. I may not be able to tell you much at the current point, but we’re flirting with some quite interesting ideas for new business. To further make you wonder: – Name one service that will be the single most important buzzword in the technology buzzword-bingo this autumn? If you got your shorts on backwards this morning you may have guessed the answer. If not, just follow the media closely 🙂
Last nite I took my body to Pirbadet and got around 1350 meters of swimming before I felt good about myself. I was suppose to have gone bikeriding too, but skipping that did not feel as much of a problem. 20 minutes in the sauna also helped. To round off the day Uninett had an outage on the line between oslo-gw1 (That’s in Oslo for you sheeps out there) and kjeller-gw (That’s at Kjeller), where you find the server this page is on, Igloo (igloo.netcore.no). Hence the page was down. Sorry ’bout that, not much I can do about it tho.
