Some weird stuff uhh?
Apr 21st, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

Yesterday morning I woke up at about 0630 from the alarmclock across the room (yap, I have a special setup with a clock on the shelf under the window to make sure I *have* to get up to turn it off), turned it off and went back to bed. Thats really not special, but when I suddenly found myself in a weird dream about red jellyfishes in a huge watertank. I have absolutely NO clue what so ever about how that dream came to happen, but anyways: The main point of the whole thing was that one specifically named (with a female name I don’t recall) jellyfish were suppose to exploit its skills in killing by ending the life of three smaller jellyfishes that were the children of another huge jellyfish. The whole thing seemed totally sureal until the final stage of the darn dream when I suddenly found myself swimming around in the tank as the killer-jellyfish. “WHAT THE H*LL IS THIS”, I thought and woke up, 0710 – my cellphones alarm went off.

In other news; The Register (El. Reg.) is running a really interesting article about some of the stuff you may find burried in the pile of documents concerning the Microsoft vs. the state of Minnesota-case. Since I’m such a nice man, I’ll include a little quote from the article:

“You never sent me a response on the question of what things an app would do that would make it run with MSDOS and not run with DR-DOS. Is there any version check or api that they fail to have? Is ther feature they have that might get in our way? I am not looking for something they cant get around. I am looking for something that their current binary fails on”         — Bill Gates by email, sept. 1988.

On friday I’ll probably be going out, as Svein (he’ll be known as ‘ph’ to some of you) turned 18 two days ago, and we have decided to take him out for a real beerbash. Saturday will bring Club-Wonderland within my eyesight, as NoModE puts on his partyhat over at Blue-Garden at 2100~. Myself I will be going there and if I feel like, I’ll dance too :p

Oh well, back to work then. I got some mailgraphs to play with. Ttyl kids 🙂

Nice weekend
Apr 19th, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

On friday, after work I decided it was a party day, so I called Asbjørn, sendt sms’es to Jådne, Stein Magnus, Magnus U., and Simen. Ofcourse *someone* had to fail to participate, but that’s ok. The happy 4 of us set off to have some drinks at casa nerdehaven. At about 23 we took a taxi down town to Kings Cross, wich have somewhat became our pub of choice due to their credabilty among nerds and the pint/cider etc.Asbjørn got a tad drunk, and at about 0215, after KC quit serving drinks, he came out, head first I mind you. Getting over to the taxistop at the city square was somewhat of a job, since Asbjørn is no small man, atleast not while drunk beyond the borders of walking. After having to do a “ok-I-will-go-with-him-and-asume-responsability”-talk with the cabdrivers in the line one of them accepted to drive us up to his house so that we could let him off near the entrance. Ofcourse mr A. decided to change the housenumber of this Moholt Student home while we drove, so we ended up dropping him of near what *I* thought was his block. The cabdriver then took me home, where I found myself waking up in my bed at about 08 AM with my handsfree tucked around my neck. I wonder where that blonde 22yearold I talked to went :p (ok, I’m joking).Saturday gave no big surprises. My stephdads 60th birthdayparty had been delayed due to the easter, and the celebrations were held at his and my moms house up at Byåsen. Everyone and their dog had enough food at that party. I was so stuffed when I was driven home that I could not imagine eating for the next week! Thanks for all the food, and the nice stuff about loosing weight tho, I really enjoyed it.On Sunday I woke up about a dozzen times. Textmessages, unanswered phonecalls blabla, the whole soup. At 1402 my mom called, and I had to call back, since I was too tired to grab the phone in due time. The first word to fly through my mind when she had giggled her way through the chitchat was.. and I quote: *ARGH*. My little 13 year old cousin had ofcourse babbled along after I left the birthdayparty. I guess, that by the end of the smalltalk that evening they all were hapily agreed that I were to be married to this girl named Lillian, wich ofcourse really IS someone I do *know* but not in THAT way. This cousin of mine, now 13, soon 14 is a real prick sometimes, and I guess that now I have to get her back, or maybe she were just getting me back, since I teased her some during dinner about certain boys in her class *doh*. Anyways, I told my mom to stuff it, and that it was *no* such thing as a girlfriend aroud my bed, so she could just quit her ideas about *another* baby in the family right away. (My stephbrother is getting one, and my stephsister now has two.)After that conversation ended gracefuly with her accepting that she might just have been fooled by my cousin I decided to get up. IRC’ed some, and agreed with Jens Ådne to go meet him and go for a little walk. I wrote little — we walked from Stavne to Dragvoll, over Nardo. Then we walked back again, across Moholt were we picked up Lars (Profoss) and headed towards Sing-Sing (Singsaker Student Home) to pick up Stein Magnus. We had an icecream there, and moved along towards casa nerdehaven. Me and Stein Magnus raided some store and got the stuff missing for the dinner. While eating we watched Memento (Yes, It’s a movie). The movie actually made the other three walk around doing some pretty messed up conversation afterwards. I may quote such as: “No, I will not go to class tomorrow. TODO-notes are from now on not to be trusted.” — That’s Stein Magnus, of course. After getting rid of the three I cleared the livingroom some more, then went to bed.

Back from The Gathering
Apr 13th, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

I will write a longer post about this later. I came home sunday evening and haven’t really waken up yet. Work seemed slow today and I scrolled web mostly while I watched time tick by.

Finally I’m just going to wrap this one up with a little quote from 50 Cent, who have stood like a brick wall infront of me on many ocations:

“Sunny days wouldn’t be special, if it wasn’t for rain
Joy wouldn’t feel so good, if it wasn’t for pain
Death gotta be easy, ’cause life is hard”
  — 50 Cent, Many Men

Edit: Apr 15, 23:39The Gathering 2004 was for me a huge selfconfidence boost. I had fun. I trully had fun. Everyone was nice, and there was a lot of fun stuff going on, like the fact that I had my bday, wich ofcourse (doh) made its way to the scoreboards (http://vrp.nerdehaven.no/gallery/me/IMG_3889) ..and a whole lot of people came to visit my seat because of that. Also notable about my 5 days at TG: I walked to and from Dj-Ravers (Terje) house about 5 times, and got driven there by Knoter (Morten) three times. That + a lot of small walks around the ship and outside in the sun along with healthy eating made me able to maintain my 87 kgs, wich I still proudly hold. The ultimate goal of loosing some during TG was put on the shelf when I realized that it was way too much fun going out and eat pizza with the rest of the geeks atleast twice, wich I ofcourse did.’Everyone’ was there, and I had a lot of fun. A great big smile goes out to everyone who I met and wish I had more time to talk to, walk around with and learn stuff about/from at TG. As usual one whole year is a whole year too much until I meet most of you again. Hope some of you will stop by in Trondheim sometime. It’s fun here too you know!A special thanks goes out to Andreas, Andreas and Kjersti of noXtension for bringing the geeks from the north (thats us from Trondheim) safe to and from Hamar. And now.. good night!zZz

April fools and all
Apr 1st, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

The 1. of april is always such a funny thing. This year I have been fooled twice, and its only 10:14 in the morning yet!Yesterday I gloriously returned to FP’s swimming at Pirbadet. I showed up early, way to early I guess, and did my 1000 meters followed by a nice session in various saunas. After wraping up at Pirbadet about 1830 I wheeled my bike in Osloveiens general direction and had some food while watching the end of ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’. It’s such a tragic, yet, good movie.I wonder what will happen the rest of today. Have you fooled anyone? Write a comment about it and tell the world 😛

The crazy swedes + more policequest XVII?
Mar 29th, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

This weekend the crazy swedes (Richard & Anders) came to visit from Stockholm. That was very nice. On friday when they arrived we had some food, and then proceeded onto drinking, leaving for a night out at 00.45 in the morning :pAfter a few drinks at Kings Cross we visited Frakken, and Richard tried to get us thrown out with snatching a bottle from behind the main bar and putting it on top of it. The bartender had no sense of humor and asked us to remove ourself from his bar, wich we did not comply to as we had more drinks to finish. The bartender calmed down after I kindly explained that Richard was from the great country of Sweden :)On the way home nor Anders or Richard seemed to get the idea of our cabsystem. You *stand in line* and wait for the cabs to pull up, you don’t go mental out in the street and try to snatch a cab infront of a huge rug of a american footballplayer. Well, anyways; we managed to get back home, where Richard fell over the fence at the side of the road and took a nice two backwards thumbles down onto the asphalt. Let’s quote Anders on this: “I wish I had a camera, amazing!”. On the positive side Richard seemed to have no injuries. We got up the driveway without futher mistakes and quickly fell asleep once inside. On saturday both Anders and Richard felt a bit hung over. We walked slowly around the center of town and pulled of a few hours at PizzaFabrikken, eating our share++ out of the local pizzalunch. In the evening we took the car for a drive and got a view of both campuses at NTNU. When we came home at about 1130 PM we had decided to make some pasta and watch a movie. ‘American Beauty’ was selected out of its exelence, and the food was nice too :-)At 00.30 the door knocked. The following is my reasembly of the conversation taken from IRC:policeman@my-hallway: You be Anders?me@my-hallway: yespolicelady@my-hallway: We want to talk to you, about narcoticsme@my-hallway: uh? what can I help you with? do you want to come in?policeman@my-hallway: no, here in the hallway will be fine, you got visitors?me@my-hallway: yeah, two swedish friends, pals from the internet, known one of them since 96policelady@my-hallway: could you stand under the light we would like to have a look at your eyesme@my-hallway: sure, uh *pussled*policeman@my-hallway: look, he got very big eyes, and theyre not shrinkingme@my-hallway: uh, uh?policelady@my-hallway: Club-Wonderland i see (pointing to my hoodie), do you hang out there?me@my-hallway: yeah, I run their websiteme@my-hallway: and I know Anders Wikdahl, and Bendik Johansen and Bjørn Egil Bremnespolicelady@my-hallway: I think he\’s telling the trouth, or else hes a very good liarpoliceman@my-hallway: have you ever smoked crack? partyed?me@my-hallway: uh? no? I\’ve even been with YAD (Ungdom Mot Narkotika)me@my-hallway: there was this once at a party when i was 14, i think someone smoked, so i leftpoliceman@my-hallway: ok, never done ectasy either?me@my-hallway: no? I have enough with being high on life itself, and besides my grandfather was with customs for 45 years, I even know Atle Vårvik somepolicelady@my-hallway: hmmm, ok, do you happen to know any of these [long list of names i dont remember]me@my-hallway: uh, no? no familiar namesme@my-hallway: whats this all about? policeman@my-hallway: We’re conducting an investigation in the neighbourhood, looking for narcotics, do you know if the neighbours around here? me@my-hallway: well, uh, that big blue house has some small student-homes, and the yellow one futher down the street, neighbours I dont talk to offen, they’re kinda the landlords best friends and on the 2nd floor there are 4 small student cribs, but i dont met any of them either policelady@my-hallway: ok.. I think we will have to move on then policeman@my-hallway: thanks for your timeme@my-hallway: well, if I can be at any assitance, just ask..policeman@my-hallway: the less you know, the better it is for youme@my-hallway: *pussled look* *closes door*Turns out something was wrong somewere. Atleast I don’t do drugs. That’s for sure :-)We watched the movie through and at 0440 went to sleep. On sunday morning we woke up to rahter nice weather. No sun, but no rain or snow either. Richard and Anders drove me over to NTNU since I was going to a seminar there, and then left for Sweden. They got home without any futher happenings. :-)After the seminar I joined Magnus U. and watched Man. Utd and Arsenal on TV. Nice match, tho I belive they are a bith rogue on the edges. both of the teams. Took a walk home, watched TV, went to bed.Next Weekend: Anders tries to get in touch with another branch of the policeforce?^DD 🙂

Spring and everything
Mar 25th, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

Since its springtime and I feel like it; please welcome the new greenish colors on the body text. I would like to have comments on this if someone care, drop me a line either by adding a comment, email or IRC. Even IRL will do 😛

nice roundtrip
Mar 25th, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

Yesterday I decided it was due time to invoke project “wheels in motion”. After leaving from work I took my bike for a swing around town, literally. The ride took me from where I work, in the center of the city to Samfundet, over to the Lerkendal stadium, up to Nardo, further up to Moholt. From Moholt I passed by Voll and reached the NTNU campus at Dragvoll. After that it was downhill fora while until I took a break at my aunts house and had some water. The ten minute break also included doing a windowsupdate on their family laptop :pFrom Chalottenlund where my aunt lives I took the hard hill up again to Dragvoll and let the wheels spinn all the way down to Singsaker where I had a break at my grandparents and watched the news. The total ride took me 1.5 or 3 hours, depending on if or if not to include the 1-1.5 hour spendt at my grandparents’. The slim-akai project is moving along, and the introduction of spring 2004 in Trondheim will certainly help. In 13 days it’s The Gathering, and I hope to be able to flexx 87 or 86 kg’s upon arrival. The rest of tne day in brief: worked 0800-1610, had chicken and rice for dinner, watched 8mm with Nicholas Cage. Went to bed at 00.30.

A fine day
Mar 23rd, 2004 by Anders Kringstad

Tuesday is a fine day from now on. I really don’t mind telling about it either. I have had some run-in’s with a few problems at work. They are now sorted, and things go on as before, exept that now I work 0800 – 1600 hours every day, and then go home! This is very nice for me. To have standardized workschedules helps me to plan the days, being able to know if I have time to this and that after work etc. Very nice. Also new of the day is the fact that I now got written work-orders that describe my tasks at work :-)In other news Simen (Senilix) became one year older on Sunday, and we (me + others) had some food and watched Gangs Of New York to celebrate that yesterday evening. Taco still taste good.. All I have to do now tho, is to go to the gym to make this week a killer :p
