When you try to loose weight and go to the gym every day, you get into weird habits quite fast. Like the fact that their ‘bikes’ are much more enjoyable to ride when you can listen to a CD on your discman while reading a book or a newspaper. Never been reading anything while working out before, and the expirience was quite nice. I forgot about the movement and just read. I actually got so sucked into one of the articles that I forgot to stop to move my feet when the bike-program ended. Funny thing.
After a four hour workout food is good. I had slized beef with fresh salad. That was very very very good. Tomorrow I have to finnish up some work on the things we need to deal with at the TLUG-meeting in two days, but besides that I think that I’ll work out 2-3 hours and try to eat a dinner with meat again to get more proteines into my system. Those buildingblocks of the muscles. Now it’s time to crash. Read some and sleep. The final week is setting in..
I guess this weekend will be weird. I have to find the perfect match between workouts and enjoying the weekend. That may prove hard. After work I’ll just sweep by home to pick up my workoutwear and go to the gym. From the gym I’ll head to the GeekPizza stuff at 1900 at a local pizzaplace near by the gym. I hope that when I get home from there I’ll be within 80 kg’s, or even under it. If not, I think I’ll just have to do *more* workouts this weekend.
Tomorrow morning at noon we’re going for a bikeride. About 60 km. That’ll be nice. I hope Jens Ådne (Quarryman) can deal with it, since it’ll be his first real ride with On.Wheelz.
I can feel my head being bent on the idea of working out now. My feet and arms seem to prepare, as if my body knows that in 45 minutes it will be doing 5000 meters of rowing. I’ll keep you posted when I get home later. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Not just much to report today really. Yesterday I did 1000 meters in the pool, instead of 2000 as I was aiming for. I blame the 5 hours of dancing the night before for that. Today I still feel a bit tired, but I will go to my workout session after work as planned anyways. Only 11 days to go now, and I need to get there..
After my workout I’ll be attending a joint meeting from SPIST, TLUG and some TUUG people. The idea is to make SPIST get moving in the region this time. How and When are probably the questions that needs to be addressed. After the unformal meeting some of us will probably move on to Microbryggeriet for the monthly meeting of TUUG (beerbash) which is held every 3. Thursday in the month.
At work we’re turning up the customer volume a bit, and I can feel how the callcenter is *annoying* me. The NOC-work seem so much more enjoyable. It makes me come to think of an Ad from Rackspace. “..Nice servers, better to stay inside, and watch the servers..” Yeah, ok. It’s raining outside anyways.
2 hours workout, home, make dinner (chickenfajitas), shower, shave, dance 5 hours. Home, sleep, work.
That’s how you sumarize yesterday afternoon and today until now. CW16 White at Blue Garden was a huge success. There was probably more than 200 people on the floor at all times, and outside there was atleast the same number. During the party I only had water, as the party was not selling alcohol, wich ofcourse was good anyways, since I needed to stay focused on the remaining 4 Kg’s. Had some chat with some people I know, talked a bit outside during breaks in the dancing too. I look forward to the images getting online. It was great fun.
In Endgames today its midweek, Wednesday, that means swimming. I aim to get 2000 meters today, and some time in the sauna. If all goes as planned, I may be able to announce 80 Kg’s tomorrow. In reality I’ve had the weight since yesterday, but I want to give it a few days to be sure it sticks. Thus.. we’ll see about GeekPizza on Friday if this goes well 🙂
Today its 13 days to go of Endgames. Heading directly from work I will do two hours of workout, followed by a nap before I get set for “Club-Wonderland 16: White” at Blue Garden. The show opens at 2100 CEST and I am prepared to be there for the entire six hours dancing. I believe this is a very positive way of spending an evening. Dancing, all dressed in white. The color of the light, the brave and the innocent. Expect me to be deadly tired at work tomorrow tho.
To make sure I don’t loose sight of the goal I have decided that I *need* to do workouts *every* day for the next 14 days (13 more days). That’s something I have never done before. I wonder how well I will handle it. On friday its GeekPizza, and I would like to be able to attend, but I can only do so, if I feel my weight are under control. Thus, I’ve decided that if I manage to get passed the 80 Kg barrier before Friday I will award myself the evening off at GP, after a workout. Eating after a workout isn’t too bad. The food doesn’t stick too well if you have been running around and pushing your limits.
At work we’re all in a rush right now. New customers are showing up, and we’re suppose to handle the load of that at the callcenter/noc without more people. Granted, we *can* handle it, but it may prove to be a bit more hazzle if one of the nocpeople are out connecting new customers to our WAN and one more are home with his newborn baby (being born tomorrow). Hence we have called for the developers to sit in and help with the callcenter. I wonder how non-techies will handle clueless endusers who ask how to open outlook and don’t know the difference between Outlook and Outlook Express.. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see 🙂
It’s funny when you come to think of it how far you can push your own body if the goal seem to be worth it. That’s what I’ve been doing for nearly one year now. In to the day 14 days from now, it will be one year since I decided to turn around my lifestyle. That leaves me with many thoughts. Was there something I could have done better? Should I have aproached this subject in another way? Was I stupid to make the texts for my webpage in english? Have I really learned anything at all?
On the oposite side of the field there is the joy of feeling 1/3 less heavy and being able to do a whole bunch of things I have never in my life done before. Who on this earth would have believed that I, the round 130 Kg geek would be bikeriding more than 110 km in one day? Or, what about swimming 4096 meters? I guess that as the one year barrier draws closer I will get more sentimental and less optimistic about the future. I feel like I have lost something, and what I am holding on to as of now are only my dream of stepping up on the weight and see the needle stop at 77 Kg. Maybe I just have a bad day, but let’s say that when I reach 77 Kg’s that I can not feel joy, and be able to keep my weight there? What then? It’ll all be in vain.
To make sure such wont happen, I’ve decided to push hard to reach the goal in time. Endgames, as I have titled the final phase of this period in my life will be hard on me, both physical and psychological. We’re taking hard workouts, lots of fatburning and nearly no special meals. For two weeks. Maybe I’ll have a breakdown and drink some during the weekend, but that’ll be ok. Alcohol doesn’t stay, I’ve noticed. So; If you happen to know me and are around Trondheim the next weeks. Don’t invite me in for ‘a lill snack’ or ‘a movie & some food’. I can’t accept. It’s not because I am rude (I know I am), but because I want to make this. This is Endgames. Say goodbye to 81. 77 here I come.
So it’s back to school for the hordes of students. NTNU is on track, or maybe they’re not, the students are here and they’re eager to learn^Wdrink. On my way from work to home I think i passed by 20-30 students, all with huge loads of beer in plastic bags from the local stores.
After eating some soup for dinner and putting some clothes in the washingmachine I picked up the needed clothes and went to 3T for a 2 hour workout. That was good. I then spendt 20 minutes in the sauna. After this I went up to my dad and said hello. Ate some taco, biked home.
In some hours it’s Friday. I’m leaning towards a very nice slow Friday. First some work, then a little workout, maybe just at home. After that I’ll go visit my grandmother and grandfather if they’re home.. and we’ll take it from there. Now tho, it’s bedtime. Sleep tight.
After spending half the day as a consultant at a customers offices to fix their LAN I was happy to jump into the water in Pirbadet this afternoon. Today I got 2000 meters behind my back when I decided that it was enough. Just in time to get 25 minutes in the sauna, some shoulder and back massage from the massage-bubbles in one of the pools. After chatting some with pallo & oyving I went into the shower and bikerided up to Tollef’s house.
In the park behind his house it was a BBQ. Not too many people, just the usual suspects such as Stein Magnus (jodal), Christian (saddlark), Magnus (meheeco), Tollef (Mithrandi), Frode (slappfisk), and one of the people from Samfundet, Magnus (donkey) who claim he’s active on IRCNet when nobody watches :p. I only had two sausages with ketchup. Nice tho.
Rounding up the evening I bikerided with Christian up to Jakobsli, over Dragvoll, down to Lerchendal and home. Thanks to the darn soccer-game at the stadium I had to spend like 8 minutes to get from Lerchendal and to Marienborg, a distance I use to spend 2 minutes on. Tho, that soccer-team won. Rosenborg that is. Thanks, no floods on IRC then. Now it’s time to sleep again. Work at 8. Got lots of stuff to do. Maybe I’ll bikeride some too. ..Oh I almost forgot. I weigh 81 Kg’s now. 4 to go!
Yesterday at noon I got ill. Anything I ate or drank came right out. I had to run to the toilet every 10 minutes or so for four hours at work before I went home and got even worse. After lying down on the bed for a while I took some painkillers to remove the pains but that didnt help much. For some hours I felt fine and showed a newly arrived friend of mine around some spots in town, before I felt bad again. During the night and the morning today I had aprox. 20 visits to the loo to throw up. Not good. Now I feel better tho and I have prepared the banner for PVV’s stand at NTNU tomorrow.
Sleep now. ttyl.
This weekend was good. On friday I had a chance to get my brain stimulated by attending a PVV meeting about the immatriculation at NTNU this midweek. After the meeting I took a little bikeride, then there was the GeekPizza event. Fridays are such good days. You have the whole weekend ahead and you can decide when to go to bed yourself and everything.
Saturday I geeked a lot, until I finally got my ass out of the chair and went to the gym and did some workout. Chatted a little with a stephcousin of mine. After the workout I biked up to Ugla to visit my mom. The whole family was there for once. My mom, my stephdad, my brother, my halfbrother, my stephbrother and stephsister, along with their loved ones and their kids. My stephbrother had his newly born firstborn with him and it was quite cool to see the baby :p After chatting some there was dinner, fishsoup, shrimps and salad, pluss some german white wine. Nice wine. I also got time to do some seriously needed updates on the family computer. It’s not too offen that someone sees to that WindowsUpdate are ran and Norton Antivirus gets to do its job.
Sunday I woke up early. 10 AM tend to be a very early rise on sundays. After chatting some on IRC I got ready for the bikeride with On.Wheelz. Magnus and Christian got to my house at 12 and at 1230 we rolled out. 85 Km’s bikeride was nice. The sun were shining and there was only a few very small clouds scattered around the sky. Came home at about 1730 and colapsed on my bed after eating an apple. Woke up at 1930 and had dinner. Watched some LOTR:FOTR extra material and IRC’ed some.
In total last week was a good startup for the next weeks heavy workouts and sharp eating practices. Only 5 to go now. Need to get those off by the 30th. We’ll see about that!
