My “Two week training”-program is going ahead this week as I now enter the second week of being sober, clearthinking and training-focused. The main goal of this two week period is ofcourse to loose some weight, and become comfortable with the proccess of doing situps every morning, and every evening. So far I must sum up the past week as a success, since I mannaged to loose the 85th kg, and bikeride more than 100 Km’s. In total I belive this week will be funny, tho a bit frustrating as both my eager towards a real beef (Fridays dinner) and a party (Friday, Saturday, next Friday, Saturday, and the week after that?).
Elesewere the Vatican Library have adopted RFID-tagging of it’s 120 000 books available for public reading in its Library readingrooms. This will, acording to sources help their ability to serve the public by cutting down the time they have to spend indexing and cross-checking contents of their bookshelfs. Earlier this process took about 1 month, now it will only take half a day. Woha.. Thats a very nice way to use RFID. Libraries all over should pick up this idea. It will really make my reading expirience a lot better as I could go to the local library and see the whereabouts of my favourite book instantly. “Inside” or “Loaned” would be the easiest initial tags, followed by a deep-scan available for “Inside” so that I could find it even if it was misplaced 🙂
And yeah, while I am at it. Breakfeast is one of the days most important meals. I have therefore started to bring food to work if I do not mannage to get it eaten at home. Eat every 3 hours, a little, and weight will move. Ttyl 🙂
20 Questions to a Better Personality
My score:Wackiness: 30/100Rationality: 14/100Constructiveness: 28/100Leadership: 20/100 You are an SEDF — Sober Emotional Destructive Follower. This makes you an evil genius. You are extremely focused and difficult to distract from your tasks. With luck, you have learned to channel your energies into improving your intellect, rather than destroying the weak and unsuspecting.Your friends may find you remote and a hard nut to crack. Few of your peers know you very well–even those you have known a long time–because you have expert control of the face you put forth to the world. You prefer to observe, calculate, discern and decide. Your decisions are final, and your desire to be right is impenetrable. You are not to be messed with. You may explode.
Now, in other news I took the bike for a swing last nite, and together with Christian (saddlark) & Magnus (meheeco) I rode around Bynesset, back to Heimdal, across Byåsen, through town, up to Chalottenlund, over Dragvoll, down to Stavne again, and home. Final time: 3 hours and some minutes. Final distance: 72 Km’s. That is .. quite long. My arms hurt some today, so today I will only go for a slow walk up to visit my mom. Ttyl. Life is great.
Say, while I am at it, does anyone recognize that description from somewere? :p
The following is just a little description of how my mood is today. Please bare with me. I enjoy being me. Life is very good. Could be better tho. Anyone know a dazzlingly beautiful, yet sweet and inteligent girl with humor, knowledge of keeping a geek under the brim and maintaining a cvs of the shoppinglist for the weekend? No? If she happens to be single, do give me a ring. 😛

After pulling off the breaks on the 85th kilogram I feel relieved. The 85th kg lasted very long and I felt that for some reason I could not move on. That certainly changed now. It started on Saturday really when I felt light as a grain of rice when I woke up. After the party in the evening I thought I had ruined it all by drinking 10 beers and a lot of whiskey burbon, but, on Sunday I found myself weighing in at 85.0 even after all the chicken I ate at the bbq.
To build on that I took more than 3 hours of walking in the evening, after eating with my dad, stephmom and brother. Companied by Anders (andai) I took some pics and walked around in town. Then there was the diet I’ve put myself on. Currently I am ticking in one piece of crisp bread in the morning, followed by a diet yoghurt at 9 at work. For lunch there is 2 or 3 pieces of dark bread with cheese, ham and raw onions. One glass of either milk or applejuice. Dinner have been mostly soups this week. Spinat and tomato-soups are great. Two bawls of that for dinner.
If you think I’ll be able to get to 77, you may be forgiven. I will probably never hit the 77.0 kg mark, but I will until the 30th of august keep on trying the best I can, and try to avoid as much as possible, unhealthy food. If by some chance I will get lucky and get to 80, that so be.
I think I will go swimming today, just for the lack of any other idea.
While the rest of the world is steaming ahead for IPv6 adoption the great nation of the peoples republic of China have announced broadly in one of their national newspapers that the country are in the deployment phase of IPv9. Sources such as the NANOG-mailinglist, and technology newssites like slashdot, The Register do have comments about this too.
Cursed, NetCores old fanaticaly never-dying server will finally end its journey as a active server today at aproximately 1500 hours CEST when I myself will do the final keystrokes on the ssh-session. I expect to shed some tears as the shutdown begin. It’s been five years of rock stable everlasting service. I wish it didnt have to end this way.. but then again, there’s always the bright side.. we now got sparkle.
more laters, lunch now!
Final code goes here.. eh or something. I have been working for some nights now on my QDB, or Quote Database. It mainly comprise of the stuff I have gathered over the years from places like IRC, parties, movies etc. The main goal of it is to provide myself with a resource, and to annoy some of my rather codeistic friends.
The NHQDB is not the only thing of recent. On wednesday me and Magnus (meheeco) and Christian (saddlark) bikerided again. 60 Km’s, again. This time we took the nice route up to Heimdal from my place, futher down to the Tiller Bridge (this time without any crashes), and around the Jonslake. We were not suppose to ride around it, but since we had such a speed we missed the crucial turn to the left and speeded straight down around to the far end of the lake. Hence,30+ more Km’s. Dang. Stopped by a farm and got some water for our bottles. The ride was great tho, and the weather was sunny and warm. Wish I had forever for such rides.
Yesterday I took the lone ride (thats what I call it, my 1 hour long/2 hour long, speedride around the east and northern parts of town) and swang by my grandmother and grandfather who were getting ready for todays birthdayparty (she’s turning 69). After eating some and watching the news at 9 pm I took the bike further down to my dads, where he and my stephmom Eva had just came home from Spain. I got some very nice clothes from Spain, and I will be sure to wear some of it when suitable. I guess that a city shorts is a no-go just now, since its 12C and raining tho.
In the world of slim-akai I’m still stuck at 85 kg’s, wondering how to do something about that. I am pondering on doing situps both mornings and evenings now, but that will require some planning, not to mention causing physical dammage, as I am very tired when I get up at 7. Would be great to have more time every day. Wish there was like 2 hours more each day. That’d be nice.
Ah and while I am at it. You find my new precious playtoy over here.
..and feel alive.
There is nothing like insomnia. Belive me.
In other news I have had the joy of doing some code for this webpage lately. Some of you (you know, those of you who got your eyes with you) may have seen the code already, but I am confident that it will pop up in all kinds of new places when I get my ass around learning some more PHP+MySQL. Yes that’s right, I am coding %!. Me coding equals the feeling some executives at HBO may have when someone ask if they want to air Michael Moores last documentary. Or, that’s how I feel about it.
This weekend went by in a flash. On friday Morten T(Knoter) showed up, and we got drunk. On Saturday,. We got drunk. On Sunday, we got drunk AND went to CW16 at Abelone. Very nice. Also on Sunday I joined Magnus U(meheeco) and Christian T(saddlark) for a 60 km bikeride to Klæbu and back. That rocked. I’m still a bit tired tho. Need to sleep now I think. Will try atleast. Ttyl.
The summer months of late June and July always make me wonder if there will be anything to do at all. Firstly there is work, then there is the organizations I am a member of, third there is the bunch of friends I am so used to have around all the time. It’s all twisted in the summer, and none of them seem normal. At work I have been doing a lot of phonecalls and End-User-Support lately, but that have now suddenly changed, and the think-tank mentality are back wich makes it possible for me to think about new ideas, create nice piles of work documentaiton etc, BUT, the spark of the bunch seem to be out. We work, eat lunch, work, go home. No mas.
TLUG have gone into a crawl, as most of the people that are members now have strolled off into the sunset as school is out. I can in some way agree tho. It’d be fun to go away for a long month without computers, but I can not possibly imagine being in town, without wanting to meet up with some geeks and do some serious Geeky stuff like a TLUG-BBQ, (wich was very nice by the way) or perhaps a little computerparty of some kind?. NetCore have managed t get Sparkle alive and running so everything have settled there too. The dust have fallen back to the ground and all services are working just.. perfectly. HSFT have taken a summer holiday until NTNU reopens in August. Just to make things even better the SPIST-mailinglist have died completely after my two monsterposts about autumn projects like the tour to schools to talk about Linux and a ALL-Linux-computerparty.
In other news, I have decided to go for bikerides 5 out of seven days this week. I went last sunday too, so currently we’re at these numbers (aprox.): Sunday, 20 km’s; Monday: 25 km’s; Wednesday 20 km’s. Today I’ll try to make it a bit longer, but first I have to clean some at home, since Morten T(Knoter) is showing up on my doorstep on friday afternoon.
Yesterday was also Andreas L’s birthday, but since he could not come to the BBQ I was hoping I only made a brief phonecall with him and said congrats that way. I hope he has time to get darn drunk on Saturday as I am planning to throw a little party before a night out on town 🙂 (If you read this, please tell me if you got time, that includes everyone who may want to come:).
I dont know what most belive, but last nite I was at a tranceparty in Trondheim Spektrum, sober. The party allowed me to test some of my dancemoves before next Sundays showdown at CW16. The average age of the partygoers last night was probably just around 14 years old, atleast I spotted more than 10 people I *know* go to 8th-9th grade at school. NoModE really played well, and when Aki set off some hardstyle I really got the vibes 🙂 Nick Sentience and Ed Real (both from the UK) did some nice spinns at the mainstage, allthough i really missed the strobelights when they did some of the tracks from last years Sensation White.
In other news Roger (James_B) dropped by on a flash-visit on his way to Oslo. Joined me for some food at 3 am in the morning today, before crashing in my livingroom with a girl (Veronika) he had with him. Today we woke up at aprox. 10 am and did a little sightseeing around town before ending up at the Tyholttower for some pizza.
Now it’s time for some walking. I’m thinking about going up to Dragvoll, bringing my camera too, just in case I spot something funny/cool. 🙂
ttyl!
At aprox. 2300 CEST Jun 15th 2004 the wonder of NetCore shifted into a new phase as sparkle launched its services into orbit. On the morning of the 16th such services as webmail, Antivirus, Antispam and some niffy mailgraphs were all humming nicely together. During the day some minor faults and errors were solved and the machine was once more rebooted at 2230 CEST last nite to make sure everything was in order. It still seem so.
Sparkle will offer NetCore-hosted projects, people and organisations the advantages of SSL-enabled services such as Qmailadmin,SpamAssassin,IMAP,POP3 & Webmail. Those lucky enough to have a login-shell will know that underneath the hood the server boost a HyperThreading Pentium 4 Proccessor with 2.8Ghz to play. A FSB of 800 Mhz and 512 MB DDR RAM will help with its tasks. The storage is covered by a S-ATA RAID 1 solution with two 120 GB disks. Non-critical system-stuff such as the / partition is on a 36 GB disk, for easy upgrade if needed. The whole shebang runs Gentoo Linux. This moves the total of flavours of *nix’es in NetCore up by one, into 3 (Slackware Linux, Gentoo Linux, FreeBSD (Debian GNU/Linux in the planning).
In my personal life there is not much happening. I’m trying to recover from my little bikeride the other day by taking walks and doing some time off from training, but I just can’t help it, I am starting to feel the urge to ride the bike, go for a walk or just do some real workout. It finally seems like my body have gotten the push and that I am now not only a geek, but well on the road of becomming a sports-enthusiast too. Weird stuff, this geek.
On friday there is a little party in the Trondheim Spektrum arena. Next week tho, there is a little more party along with some more work, and maybe Morten T (Knoter) will come visist. Time will show. Now I really have to work some more. TTYL kids. And don’t forget the TLUG BBQ next tuesday!
